Trigger warning – Intense emotions of a heartwarming kind

Plot – Prabhendu is a guitarist who plays in a local band and the troupe is slated to go abroad on a performance. Prabhendu’s visa gets rejected and he is forced to go back to his home in Palakkad. His father, brother and his cousins are priests by tradition and Prabhendu is an atheist! Desperate to earn some money he decides to assist his cousin, Roopesh as a priest.

During a ceremony to exorcise a ghost, he ends up being able to see and interact with a young girls ghost! He befriends this ghost and over time become close friends with her. He names her Delulu and she stays by his side through his bright days and his uncomfortable moments with his family.

Delulu has no idea who she is and how she died and how she ended up being a ghost. Over time, flashes of memory creep in and during an intense moment with Prabhendu, she remembers her past and she moves to the light.

Sarvam Maya is a romantic comedy directed by Akhil Sathyan. The lead, Prabhendu is played by Nivin Pauly and Delulu is played by Riya Shibu. A simple storyline with a lot of comedy tied in, sprinkled with romance and a dash of sentiment makes this a wholesome movie!

Sarvam Maya is a movie that feels like a warm blanket on a cold night. The various human foibles are blended in so beautifully in this tapestry of a movie that you can actually relate to each of them as if you have known them all along. Nivin Pauly is such a natural actor and so is Riya! There is not a dull moment and not a moment when the story drags or doesn’t emgage! Frame by frame, there is a lot happening and so many emotions playing out that you cannot take your eyes off the screen.

I have left out a lot of details in the plot and in my review. I would love for everyone to watch it and experience this wholesomeness for themselves! Giving out anything will take away the magic of the movie as well as the moments that make up this movie!

I will give this a 10/10!
