Winter is creeping in
Making me stay in bed longer with you
Tucking my feet under you
Holding you closer to me
Snuggling on your arm
And pulling the blanket over my face.
Let’s stay in longer
Heating our bodies together
Holding each other
Wrapping ourselves together
Burying our bodies deeper
Keeping the cold out!
Soon we will have to wake up
And get off the bed
Lay our feet on the cold, hard floor
Wrap our arms around ourselves
And stumble out of the warmth
Chasing yet another day
That will bring no meaning to me
And now when I turn
And look at the bed
With its pillows scattered everywhere
Blanket in a heavy mess
I long to feel your body on mine
Holding me close
And keeping me warm
Was this all a dream
When I thought you were here with me?
Or was I hallucinating again?
Sweetheart, I long to have you here
In bed with me, holding me and keeping my winters away!
